Get rid of that background in Photoshop

You’ve got your image and you’re not happy with the background, you want a new one. Maybe you have some shots of monkeys and you want to put them into a city scene or perhaps you have pics of London builders and you want them to look like they are in the zoo!! With a few simple steps you can remove your background then you can add a new one to make it look like they could have been anywhere, the possibilities are endless.
Open your image in Photoshop and double click the background layer in the layers panel. A window will appear and then select OK.
There are two ways to easily remove your background depending on whether you have a plain background or one with lots going on.
If you have a plain background then you can use the magic wand tool. Right click the magic wand tool from the tools palette. Click on the background of your image, the area to be deleted will be selected by a dotted line, you can make this area smaller or bigger by changing the tolerance number which is located at the top of the screen. Once you are happy with your selection press delete and your old background will be erased. You can use the eraser toll to clean up any edges. Now you are ready to insert your new background
If you have lots going on you will need to cut your subject out using the lasso tool. Select the lasso tool, both the lasso tool and the magnetic lasso tool are great for this task. Use the tool to cut the subject out and once you have your subject selected use the move tool to drag your subject onto the image of your new background.
And there you have it, hoe to get rid of that boring background!
